Part of the Colorado arts community since 2002, Art as Action (AaA) is a collective of Artivists, which AaA defines as champions and ambassadors of the communal, universal, healing language of art. With a 13-year history of nurturing artists and inspiring community engagement in the arts in Boulder and surrounding areas, AaA has successfully produced 13 performances through the one-of-a-kind Artivist Process and offers two signature programs: Reconnect with your Body for dancers with and without Parkinson’s Disease (PD), and Young Artivists for at-risk youth. Art as Action is a a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Repeatedly, art has proven to be an extraordinary way to inspire and unite a community, and artists have always been on the forefront of social change. Our Artivist Process brings together passionate artists from various genres and enables innovative ideas for art and action to emerge naturally and evolve into groundbreaking work.

our mission
Art as Action creates arenas for discovering, inventing and experiencing collaborative art in a dynamic community.

Art as Action is the arena where Artivists discover their potential for creativity and connection. Over a decade’s worth of performers and audience members will attest to AaA’s ability to create valuable opportunities for any and every performer, and this inclusiveness extends into AaA’s programs.
